Opening the Mountain
Use these checklists when opening Chairs 3 and 4
Opening Chair 3 | Opening Chair 4 |
- Set up lift safety rope at the bottom of Chair 2
- Set up lift safety rope at the bottom of Chair 3
- Set up SLOW signs in gulch
- Set up two SLOW signs wehre Robins and Skyline merge at Chair 3
- Make sure operators are at top and bottom of Chair 2 and Chair 3
- Set up and mark up information signs at top and bottom of Chair 3
- Mark closed trails as directed
- Make closed markers are visible and secure
- Check at the top of Chair 3 for:
- At least one full 02 tank
- Non-rebreather mask and cannula
- Backboard
- C-collars (all 5 sizes)
- Complete packs on each toboggan
- Operational toboggans (check pins, ropes, break)
- Lift evacuation kit (T-bar and rope)
- Ensure that the operator completes opening:
- Safeties
- Ramps
- Signs
- Ropes for lines

- Set up Chair 4 lift safet rope
- Check under chair for clearance
- Mark closed trails as directed
- Make closed markers are visible and secure
- Check at the top of Chair 3 for:
- At least one full 02 tank
- Non-rebreather mask and cannula
- Backboard
- C-collars (all 5 sizes)
- Complete packs on each toboggan
- Operational toboggans (check pins, ropes, break)
- Lift evacuation kit (T-bar and rope)
- Ensure that the operator completes opening:
